Ford
introduced the Meteor to the Canadian car market in 1949 as a less expensive
model. It was based on the Ford body, but with different trim and only
sold in Canada. In 1962 the car was redesigned as a mid-size automobile
and the Mercury name was added for the first time. The Meteor was also
sold in the USA for the first time.
Mostly original,
this 1962 Mercury Meteor has never been restored. Built in Oakville, Ontario,
it was equiped with Ford's new 221 cubic inch V8 engine. With it's two
speed automatic transmission, the car will cruise along easily at highway
speed. This Merc has less than 35,000 original miles. I am the third owner
and have owned it since 2016. steve_pape@yahoo.com
